Disposal Guidance

Always verify with the official Safety Data Sheet. This guidance does not replace regulatory requirements.
Massachusetts Notice: M.G.L. c.21C prohibits drain disposal of most regulated chemicals. Mercury, heavy metals, and halogenated solvents require licensed contractor removal.

Search Tips

For best results when identifying substances:

  • Use the CAS number from the label for exact identification (e.g. 64-17-5)
  • Try the chemical formula if the name is unclear (e.g. NaOH)
  • Search common synonyms — "lye" finds Sodium Hydroxide, "muriatic acid" finds HCl
  • Partial names work — type sulfur to see all sulfur compounds
  • If a chemical cannot be found, photograph the label and submit to your CHO for professional identification
